Senator Jeff Sessions calls out his Democrat counterparts for their silence on the issue of amnesty for illegals, saying that they have “surrendered the jobs, wages and livelihoods of their constituents to a group of special interests meeting in secret at the White House.”
He points out that Congress has refused to pass and the American people have rejected what they now plot to do anyway, no matter what the people think or what the people’s representatives in Congress vote.
Senator Sessions quotes “Politico,” reporting of White House officials having conducted more than twenty meetings over the last two months “in the White House with legal experts, immigration advocates and business leaders to gather ideas on what should be included in the order.”
Asking who these so-called experts, advocates and business leaders are, Senator Sessions says, “They’re not the law enforcement officers, they’re not our ICE officers, they’re not our Border Patrol officers, they’re not the American working man and woman, they’re not unemployed Americans, they weren’t in the room. You can be sure of that. Their opinions weren’t sought.”
Sessions continues, “No, White House officials are meeting with the world’s most powerful and corporate immigration lobbyists and activists who think border controls are for the little people. We know better.”
He says, “The administration is meeting with the Elite, the cosmopolitan set who scorn and mock the concerns of everyday Americans concerned about their schools, jobs, wages, communities, hospitals. These great and powerful citizens of the world, we know, don’t care much about old-fashioned things like national boundaries, national sovereignty, immigration controls, let alone the constitutional separation of powers, or even the consistent and even-handed enforcement of plain law passed by the elected representatives of the American people in due fashion.
Senator Sessions points out that the pro-amnesty lobbyists have spent $1.5 billion since 2007 trying to get their amnesty passed.
He raises the hypocrisy of his Democrat counterparts in the Senate who want Obama to wait until after the elections so that they can pretend that they had nothing to do with the amnesty.
Senator Sessions says that “The masters of the universe are very fond of open borders as long as these open borders don’t extend to their gated compounds and fenced-off estates.” He exposes the hypocrisy of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who criticized American immigration policy in Mexico City, rages against borders, yet shields himself from the rabble by buying up surrounding property adjacent to his home. He also shows how the economic reality that will result from the amnesty is quite different from that which is being portrayed by Obama, Zuckerberg and others.
Senator Sessions also shows that the reported shortage of STEM trained employees does not exist and that there is in fact a surplus of available workers. That surplus has kept wages suppressed, with no increase since 1999. The H1-B visa program is being used by big American businesses to hire foreign workers from abroad and reduce labor costs. These foreign workers are being hired at the same time that Americans are being laid off.
