Former Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice is scheduled to testify next week before the House Intelligence Committee in a private session. The extent of what we know about the proceedings will be limited to how much the Democrats want us to know, because they’re the ones who are so diligently providing the leaked information.
Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) is not on the committee that she will be testifying before but sits on the Judiciary and Oversight Committees is asked what he would like to know. The question he would ask first is “Did you unmask names and if so, why?”
He continues, saying, “Remember, Bill, there was a finite number of people in the Obama administration who had the ability to unmask these names. Some of those people who had that ability are the very same people who were not square with [lied to] the American public in the aftermath of the Benghazi tragedy, people like Ben Rhodes, people like Susan Rice.”
Hemmer raises the fact that “There are those in the Trump team who think this team was spying on them, is that true?” Jordan replies, “We don’t know, all I know is Susan Rice mislead the American people after Benghazi, five times she went on major networks and told the American people something that she knew was not accurate.”
Rice lied about Benghazi but is now going to tell the truth about her own crimes?
Jordan says, “We have the evidence. I sat on that committee for two and a half years. So this same individual has the ability to unmask names, it’s been alleged that she’s done that. Let’s understand what happened here. Did she do it and if so what was the motivation and how did it all unfold? Those are critical questions.”
Hemmer asks, “Is this the venue to get that answer?” Jordan admits he would prefer it be public but that maybe it will be at some point, dependent upon what they learn. He reminds the audience that Comey and Lynch need to be questioned as well, and of Comey’s admission that he lied as he had been instructed by Loretta Lynch to do, to the American people, in calling the investigation into Clinton criminality a “matter.”
He says the Judiciary committee should be investigating that issue as well as the reports that Comey leaked classified information in his memos. He wonders if that might have influenced his decision not to prosecute Clinton, because he was doing the same thing. He also raises the impropriety of Comey leaking to get his close friend and mentor Robert Mueller appointed as a Special Counsel.
Whatever happens, be it a string of taking the Fifth Amendment, lies, evasive half-answers or weak, non-probing questions, recent history tells us one thing is certain – it will be meaningless, there will be no consequences for her corruption. For Democrats there never are.
