While there is plenty of historical evidence that associates of the Clintons have an extremely high probability of committing suicide, even through impossible measures such as multiple gunshots, the evidence in this case is not even close to being real or accurate.
The apparently false implication in two videos, one by “Headlines With a Voice,” citing a “Your Daily Newswire” article and another that appears to be Mike Cernovich taking their exaggerated content and repackaging it into his own video without sources, is that a Haitian man who was recently found with a gunshot wound to the head was actually a victim of Clinton foul play. [Videos Below]
Since all of the information is basically the same in the three products, we’ll treat them as one. They describe deceased Klaus Eberwein as “a former Haitian government official who was expected to expose the extent of Clinton Foundation corruption and malpractice next week.” It’s true he was a former Director General of the Haitian government’s economic development agency, Fonds d’assistance économique et social, better known as FAES. It’s also true he was scheduled to appear Tuesday before the Haitian Senate Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
There is no indication he was expected to expose the potential Clinton involvement in funds stolen from the Haitian earthquake relief donations. That may have happened or it may not, but the evidence for making the case that is was expected to happen doesn’t exist, and is conjecture. He had his own problems with ethics.
The Miami-Dade medical examiner records supervisor, Veronica Lamar, stated the cause of death as, “He shot himself in the head,” and the time of death as 12:19 pm. His body was discovered at a local Miami Quality Inn. That information was reported accurately in the pieces.
They failed to include information just 6 short paragraphs below in the same article, that ” During and after his government tenure, Eberwein faced allegations of fraud and corruption on how the agency he headed administered funds. Among the issues was FAES’ oversight of shoddy construction of several schools built after Haiti’s devastating Jan. 12, 2010, earthquake.”
It went on to state, “Eberwein was scheduled to appear Tuesday before the Haitian Senate’s Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, the head of the commission, Sen. Evalière Beauplan confirmed. The commission is investigating the management of PetroCaribe funds, the money Haiti receives from Venezuela’s discounted oil program.” There’s no mention of the word “Clinton” as a basis for his testimony.
While there is little doubt that much, if not most of the money raised for Haiti went elsewhere, or that the Clintons are despicable international predators of the most vile kind, there is also little evidence to support the strong implications in the videos that the death of Mr. Eberwein was a Clinton hit. Their evidence isn’t even related to those claims.
The assertion that 9.6 percent of donations went to the Haitian government and a mere 0.6% to the actual people of Haiti mirrors one made in a BBC article from November of 2016. The videos would have you believe that a remaining $5.4 billion went to the Clintons, but it clearly states in the graphic that it went to the UN. The graphic is sourced to the UN Office for the Special Envoy for Haiti on the graphic.
The methods of their behind the scenes thievery is not information the Clintons likely would have shared with Eberwein in the process of their pilferage in any regard. The bombshell that Eberwein was supposedly going to drop the following Tuesday didn’t even exist and the article the graphic is contained in was published back in November of 2016.
It represents a portion of a total $9.04 billion, the amount of $6.04 billion, collected from bilateral and multilateral donors that went to the UN in the period between 2010 and 2012. Their assertions, aside from being untrue, are based upon incomplete data. Nobody is saying that there wasn’t impropriety in the finances, it’s the Clintons, after all. There’s just no evidence that these claims are true or that Mr. Eberwein was murdered because he was about to spill the beans on the Clintons.
Additionally, they credit Mr. Eberwein in the videos and article with making a statement outside Hillary Clinton campaign headquarters in New York, saying, “The Clinton family, they are crooks, they are thieves, they are liars.” It is a statement the BBC quoted in that same 2016 article, attributing it to Haitian activist Dahoud Andre, not to the deceased Eberwein.
They added of Andre, “He has been leading protests outside the Clinton Foundation headquarters in Manhattan and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign base in Brooklyn for the last two years.”
If you’re going to accuse somebody of having someone killed, particularly a corrupt national political figure like Hillary Clinton, it’s a good idea to at least have your facts straight. There might be good views and revenue in fake news short term, but in the long run it doesn’t do anybody any good.
The original fake news video above and the repackaged version below both contain the same misleading content. Sure, everybody with a soul loves to hate the Clintons, but there’s no reason beyond lazy “journalism” and greed to put these videos out there.
