With the attention of the nation this week certain to include the events in Libya, driven by testimony of Hillary Clinton before the House Select Committee on Benghazi, the events remind us that there are many other questions that have yet to be answered.
While the focus of the hearings is restricted to the events which led to the deaths of four Americans, the questions naturally extend to what operations were being conducted at the two Benghazi locations and in Libya as a whole.
It’s interesting and more than a little unsettling to take a look back and remember the reaction of Hillary Clinton when she first received confirmation that Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi had been killed. Classless misbehavior is what we’ve come to expect from the former Secretary of State, and she certainly didn’t disappoint with this little exhibition.
You’d almost think she was the one who took him out herself and perhaps, indirectly, maybe she was. We really don’t know what all she was involved in, who she was representing and towards what end. Was there some personal enrichment component as well? Was the simple vanquishing of an adversary in a most brutal manner enough to put an ear to ear grin on her face and a cackle at the ready?
She’s putting on her big girl pantsuit, so proud of one of her few “accomplishments,” one which, in retrospect, was a huge mistake. The success she and Hussein Obama had in taking out the legitimate leadership of this nation created the very kind of terrorist safe-haven we supposedly first went into the Middle East to eradicate in the aftermath of 9/11. Instead of a prosperous nation led by a strong man who kept the peace and enjoyed a high standard of living Libya is now a nation gripped by chaos and Islamic militant factionalism.
It’ as if Clinton is repeating a childish verse she’s been rehearsing or has prepared for just the right moment. It’s not much of a rhyme but then she’s not much of a statesman. It’s moronic and contorted verse, quite befitting of Ms Clinton. As she beamed with pride, almost exploding with self-satisfaction, Clinton said, “We came, we saw, he died,” reveling in being the center of adoration and attention.
She’ll be the center of attention this week as well but the emotions she exhibits are likely to be quite different. They’ll hold hearings into her involvement and actions.
She’ll come, we’ll see, she’ll lie.
The reality of what she was celebrating can be seen below, a brutal exhibition of the barbarism of the third world Islamists, those brought to power when tough girls Hillary Clinton and Hussein Obama took Gaddafi out of the picture.
