Is it time to consider a different pastime for southerners? NASCAR is looking more and more like the NAACP or La Raza these days, censoring people and embracing a public policy which flies in the face of American values and traditions, including those of their Dixie-centered fan base.
Choosing to side with pandering politicians in attacking the heritage of southern Americans, NASCAR announced on Thursday morning that they would be censoring the free speech and values of the fans attending their events, asking them to “refrain from displaying the Confederate Flag at our facilities and NASCAR events.” They declared that every track which will be hosting one of their events had agreed to remove their fans’ flags, a testament to the level of coercion and intimidation they are willing to impose.
NASCAR CEO Brian France said on SiriusXM radio on Wednesday, “We’re all trying to be, as we should, the most inclusive sport that we can, and you can’t say that on one hand and then fly a very offensive flag to an entire race of people on the other. It just doesn’t comport. That’s where we are, and there’s no daylight between that. And I was clear on that over (last) weekend, and our tracks are working on the right kind of solution to work with our fans.”
A solution to Mr. France translates into a dictate that will result in the least damage to their bottom line and the sport’s popularity while still obeying the commands of the Obama regime operatives. He added, “We’ve taken the position that we need to disassociate ourselves with that symbol, that flag in every way that we can because it just represents a very offensive message.”
They trotted out some previously non-political and popular drivers to press the point, with Dale Earnhardt Jr saying, “I’ve made my comments about the Confederate flag several times, and I stand behind NASCAR’s stance to remove it. I think if it’s offensive to an entire race, it really does nothing for anybody to be there flying. It belongs in the history books, that’s about it.’’ Earnhardt ignored the fact that his comments were offensive to an entire region of Americans, and it happens to be the one that pays his bills.
Earnhardt’s teammate Dale Gordon voiced a similar party line in comments of his own, saying, “As far as the Confederate flag I think that… I know how we approach it at Hendrick Motorsports and that is everything that we can control. We have eliminated the ability to use it in any way or it show up in any of the things that we are involved with. I think that is the stance I see that NASCAR has taken and have had that stance for several years.”
Gordon added, “To me I’m in support of what they are doing. It’s a delicate balance. We race all over, but the South is an area where we have a lot of fans. Everyone has different opinions and expression of that. I support NASCAR and the stance that they are taking.” Time will tell if these expressions of new-found principles regarding newly discovered racism was a wise decision.
NASCAR is also siding against defending American culture in another way, attacking our sovereignty, jobs, borders and security by announcing that they are retaliating against Donald Trump’s call to support American workers and end the Mexican invasion. They place no value on our national sovereignty and endorse the belief that America is the only nation on the planet that has no right to self-determination and security. Invasions and bankrupting our nation are just fine with the corporate prostitutes at NASCAR; profits and backroom political dealing come first.
