Congressman Peter King (R-NY), a member of the Homeland Security Committee and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence is interviewed regarding the contrived story of a Russian hack attempting to help Donald Trump win the election. King has his own questions regarding the leaks from the CIA and their refusal to testify before Congress on the matter. Is it that part about being under oath that is leading to the resistance?
King says, “This is absolutely disgraceful. All we’ve heard from the intelligence community over the last several months is that they could not say that there was any attempt to undermine Hillary Clinton to help Donald Trump. The consensus was that there was an attempt by the Russians to put a cloud over the election, to create disunity.”
He says, “Well that’s what’s happening right now and it’s the intelligence community that’s doing it. There was nothing at all ever told to us, in fact they were, said that they couldn’t prove it, that there was an attempt to favor one candidate over the other. Director Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence, said that publicly on November 17th. And now we have this, as far as I know there is no decision by the CIA, there is no consensus opinion. And yet we find that in the New York Times and the Washington Post. The House Committee on Intelligence was told nothing about this. And yet it’s our committee, it’s Devin Nunes, a member of the Trump transition team, who has jurisdiction over the CIA and all the intelligence agencies.”
Kings says, “This violates all protocols and it’s almost as if people in the intelligence community are carrying out a disinformation campaign against the President-elect of the United States. It’s absolutely disgraceful and if they’re not doing it then it must be someone in the House or Senate who is leaking false information and there should be a full investigation of this.”
He notes that somebody has the time to leak the information to the Washington Post but they can’t find the time to testify as required by law. He’s not buying the excuse that they’re too busy because they’re busy putting together the narrative for Hussein Obama.
King doesn’t believe that any conclusion of candidate favoritism on the part of the Russians and actions based upon it exists. He asks what individual within the organization made that determination, John Brennan or someone else? King says if they’ve made a finding the CIA has an obligation to show it to Congress. He sees it as an attempt to discredit Donald Trump. He notes that nobody in the CIA is speaking, no one is on the record.
If they went on the record now, and testified to the truth, would that undercut the narrative or compromise their messaging once the determination of the most politically advantageous story is determined? Obama has ordered them to give him a report, and they’re doing what he tells them to do, not what’s right. It’s business as usual for this regime.
