This wasn’t a crowd of adoring, starry-eyed 18 year-olds that Obama was addressing, and the response to his now-familiar empty words and false promises and claims bore that out. This group was composed of rational, clear-thinking Americans who love their country and disapprove of what is being done to it by this regime.
The lack of “love you’s” and “applause on cue” accentuated the obviously uncomfortable engagement. Even though many of those in attendance were older, Obama was somehow spared having to request water for anyone whose body succumbed to the awesomeness of being in his presence.
Obama speaks of how it is easy to grow cynical in the face of the future that he is working to destroy, claiming that the Legionnaires he is addressing know that cynicism is not a characteristic of a great nation. That is true to a degree, but it is a characteristic of a nation that is being systematically dismantled and a component and a result of that recognition.
The woefully inept boy-king lectures these Legionnaires, many of whom recognize him for the subversive that he is, that they should never lose sight of our progress as a people or the strength of our leadership in the world.
We are not progressing as a nation, and his vision of progress as a people does not include the American exceptionalism that these people know and fought for. It includes, under the current regime, a submission to the socialism that has been our long-standing opponent and an erasure of the borders that many of those in attendance fought to entrench and protect.
As far as America’s leadership in the world, they see it diminishing and they see him as a primary reason for it. Obama describes in his customary unsubstantiated, anecdotal method, his perverse interpretation of “what American leadership looks like,” begging the question, “How in the Hell would he know?”
He touts “removing 140,000 troops from Iraq and welcoming those troops home,” as somehow being the equivalent of victory, when we are on the verge of having to return to the same battlefield as a result of his decisions made upon the basis of an abstract, subjective, political timetable.
Current events are exposing his inadequacies and failures to maintain a victory that many fought and died or were maimed to secure. His audience knows what a failure he is and that he is working against the country they served, dismantling the nation they and others fought to protect.
He calls it the right thing to do as if that is an excuse for failing to lead in America’s best interest. It is no justification for short-sightedness, his inattentiveness or his lack of concern or understanding of the consequences of his actions.
Even worse, his actions could be creating exactly the results he’s seeking, the diminishing of our stature in the world and the destruction of our representative government.
His empty words were met with silence and a muted response for a reason. The American Legion members recognize a foreign enemy when they see one. B. Hussein Obama is not one of them. In spite of his claims to the contrary, he’s not on their side, the side of America.
