Ali Saleh Kahlah al Marri was arrested as an enemy combatant while a student at the University of Illinois during the Bush administration. Bush wanted him locked up in Gitmo but al Marri was instead sent to a federal prison where he has been detained from that point up until last week, when he was released back to his native Qatar.
In a 2007 speech former President Bush detailed the terrorist training of al Marri, which included his specialty in poisons. Al Marri attended al-Qaeda training camps in the time before the September 11th attacks, and was deployed in the United States as a sleeper operative of that terrorist, one who had offered to martyr himself for their cause.
Lt Col Allen West characterizes as “absolutely unconscionable” the fact that we still “Have an environment where the enemy is continuing to fight us but we are releasing the enemy back to join the ranks.” He says, “So when you look at several U.S. statutes it seems that the Obama administration continues to provide aid and comfort and material support to the enemy as well as aiding and abetting their efforts.”
West says, “Look, we cannot continue to look at this war against Islamic totalitarianism and Islamic Fascism and jihadism as some law enforcement operation. We cannot look at this as we have to have evidence that has to be presented.”
He describes al Marri as a sort of scout, sent to choose targets for cyanide gas in dams and other water supply sources. He asks, “Why would we release this guy back into Qatar?”
Brian Kilmeade points to the lack of a connection between this release and the Gitmo closing campaign of Obama, noting that none of the supposed “justifications” that Obama commonly quotes erroneously for closing Gitmo applied to this guy.
Colonel West wonders what kind of deal is being cut between Obama and the terror nations that would explain these inexplicable acts. He points out that they are still the enemy and the Obama regime has released them to return to the fight while we still have troops engaged.
Col West made a valid point. If those statute violations are as they appear, why is it that Hussein Obama is not occupying the cell recently made available by the release of al Marri?
